DMSO 70% vs DMSO 99.9%

DMSO 70% is the same dimethyl sulfoxide diluted with 30% purified water. Because it comes ready-made, you skip the mixing step, which gives off heat, and you get a uniform working solution that does not solidify at room temperature. If you need the pure solvent, choose DMSO 99.9%; if you want both, the DMSO Duo Pack works out 10% cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make 70% from 99.9%?

Yes, by mixing 7 parts of pure DMSO with 3 parts of purified water; the mixing is exothermic. This format saves you the process.

Does it crystallise like pure DMSO?

Not at room temperature; the aqueous solution has a much lower freezing point.
