4% HYDROCHLORIC ACID

Activator for obtaining a biocide (chlorine dioxide) in situ. 4% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, necessary to activate sodium chlorite. Biocide included in Art. 95 of the BPR regulation, for exclusive use for the disinfection of water for human or animal consumption.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE

For disinfection of drinking water:

Use one drop of HCl Activator for each drop of Sodium Chlorite (1:1). Dose 2 drops of Sodium Chlorite and 2 drops of Activator for each litre of water to be treated, in a dry (non-metallic) container, regardless of the number of activated drops. Wait about 45 seconds until a golden amber colour is obtained. The mixture must then be diluted in water. Add water (>150 ml) to stabilise the activated solution as quickly as possible.

The intense yellow colour indicates the degree of saturation of the CIO2 gas which evaporates over time. This yellowish solution must be diluted in the water to be treated as soon as possible to ensure maximum effectiveness, and left to act for at least 30 minutes.

Do not consume the treated water until the active chlorine level drops below 1.5 ppm. If the chlorine level is not noticeable when measuring, repeat the operation until the active chlorine level in the water is between 0.5-1.5 ppm. The amount of product to be dosed and the exposure time will always depend on the quality of the water to be treated. Use with caution, always read the labels and information on the product. Store in a cool, dry place, in an upright position.

Do not expose to sunlight to prevent degradation. It is not necessary to keep containers in the refrigerator at reasonable temperatures when the ambient temperature is below 22-24º C.

For disinfection of surfaces and utensils in the Food Industry and other areas of private life and public health:

In a clean, dry, non-metallic glass, mix equal parts 25 ml of Sodium Chlorite Solution NaClO2 (25%) and 25 ml of HCl Activator (4%), wait about 45-60 sec. until a golden amber colour is obtained, and dilute the mixture in 5-10L of water, depending on the level of dirt, in a closed container. In a ventilated area, apply this dilution to the surfaces using a cloth or mop, or by dipping the tool. Leave to act for at least 5 min. and then rinse with plenty of water before use.
