Plastic or glass?
Both are compatible with chlorite. Amber glass provides better protection from light; HDPE is safer for transport and large formats.
How should it be stored?
Closed, in a cool place, protected from light, away from acids and combustible materials.
Are “sodium chlorite” and NaClO₂ the same thing?
Yes. “Sodium chlorite” and NaClO₂ refer to the same substance. At 25% it comes as an aqueous solution; it is also available as an 80% powder.
What is the difference from 80% chlorite powder?
The powder is more concentrated: 1 kg of 80% chlorite contains approximately the same amount of chlorite as 3.2 kg of 25% solution. The liquid is more convenient for small volumes; the powder is more economical for high consumption. We explain it in the 25% chlorite vs 80% powder guide.
